Which is several orders of a magnitude more expensive than just adding a CD-burner. Or use the pre-existing USB interface to write the files to a 5€ small memory stick (new as mentioned earlier) Ditto for the complexity regarding the securi

I like powertoys, especially ‘fancy zones’! But Explorer is something I stopped using more than a decade ago when I encountered TotalCommander - that I cannot do without!!! The regex-supporting live-preview batch-filenaming utility alone is

I really like the concept(!) I have been looking around for something like this, but selfhosted (any chance of it being opensourced?) I learned about this site from a comment in another HN thread, thus did not read your "ShowHN" i

I wanted to use org mode hence started using eMacs. I tried the ‘vanilla emacs’ which didn’t click for me (spent time in the tutorial etc.) Then I found spacemacs (and evil mode!) and that helped (as I have some vi experience!) I have been

Yep - same with the w10 calc, you can no longer move it with WIN-ARROW, as it scales to half the monitor… I guess I should try to copy the W7 calc (which also have great shortcuts F5 /F6 to toggle between the normal/binary (progra

I hate that as well - but finally learned that you can actually change the RETURN behavior in Slack’s preferences. I wonder why they decided that a different behavior was needed depending on you being in a code block (RETURN -> new line)

Yep - a visual guide makes one read faster. I learned to use a piece of paper to cover up what I have already read to avoid the eyes to ‘backtrack’. For reading on paper that is. I find highlighting on screen a little similar … This was on

Well Oslo is not in Denmark, but in Norway (a different country). I (from Denmark) find it "disturbing" to see `.´ as the decimal point, AM/PM for time, as well as writing the DAY before the MONTH (MM/DD-YYYY). https:&#

Interesting article, but a shame that the UX removes the scroll bars (consumed via iOS). You can’t get an overview of how much content there is, hence how much more reading you’re in for…

Thank you- I was wondering why org and it’s code block abilities was not mentioned… I really like Howard’s tone (and emacs knowledge!) when he’s sharing knowledge (eg the video linked in the linked article). It was really fascinating when
