Reminds me of an economics joke: Two economists are walking down the street. One spots a $20 bill on the sidewalk. He bends to pick it up, but his companion stops him. "If there really were free money in the street," the companion

I'm looking at a 4 hour interview in my near future, so yes I'd like remuneration. But even more than that, I'd like an interview that doesn't take 4 hours.

I'm an introvert and my wife is an extrovert. She definitely struggled more than I did. But even I got to the point where I was cherishing any small opportunity to chat with a stranger. A couple of months ago, I went to an old friend&#

It's certainly happening in China. Regional dialects like Cantonese—which you would still hear routinely in American Chinatowns—are slowly being replaced with Mandarin via the school system. These dialects are not yet lost, but within

I looked into Bitwarden for work, but there's no password reset option for admins. I don't know how many times people have forgotten their password manager's password and I've had to reset it. Without that feature, Bitwa

Through the confines of scheduling, I once found myself in the lowest level of biology and AP biology in the same high school semester with the same teacher. At first she was perplexed, wondering what the hell was going on. But once she got

1) If you are having serious intentions of self-harm, seek professional help. No other advice you read here (mine included) matters until you've done that. 2) Forget Tinder, and other social media too. It's just something to make

I've long suspected that there is a glut of not-terribly-good UX people who continually create pointless redesigns to justify their ongoing employment. I can't remember the last time (maybe never?) that I saw a redesign and though

Print stylesheets are quite important if you're serving older demographics. I manage a site that frequently has content printed out and passed around, so the print styles must work. It has the added bonus that I never hear complaints

I just find something very cold and socially undesirable in the idea that somebody can spend a lifetime putting in the work to get the home they want, only to be forced out because "society" decides they are no longer productive.

As far as I can tell, it's not different. Unless you could consistently generate the 2.5% property value to pay the tax each year (in a world where AI has sent incomes to zero!), then you'll eventually lose your property.
