For each iOS device sold Apple can profit from selling services (iCloud sub, App Store, Music, TV+ etc) so allowing something like that would only result in loosing customers. The customers Apple can win are those willing to buy a brand new

Maybe the QR code scanner and the NFC POS have been installed in a poor way that make the two options collide. Since QR code could be provided from general purpose apps (browser, photo gallery) there is no software solution to this.

Are you all serious about this ask for permission thing? Good luck explaining MIDI, HID, NFC and so on to the average Joe, in a small popup. We already have enough “I agree” buttons popping over the screen. Web should be built for everybody

Especially for cars, they sell you the product with a very low margin betting on high returns in after sales (spare parts). In the long term regulating spare part prices would likely result in an increase of the full product price. Not sure
