With respect, a lot of people disagree with you... even a lot of people posting personal testimonials on this page. Seeing something can have a much more profound impact than simply being told about it.

Google is judge and executioner. There is no presumption of innocence, you're guilty if they say you're guilty.

No, I say that facing such a serious life-threatening situation puts things in perspective and you stop worrying about things that don't really matter.

Thanks. Still unsettling that while both perspectives are equally valid, Newtonian physics is so much more convincing than what came before (clockwork/earth at the center of the universe). So while both relative views are equally true

I must be really missing something obvious, since I don't know why so many replies are talking about debugging. We're talking about the speed of production code (aren't we?) that already elides a lot of debugging features. T

Are you saying that the achievement outlined in the article is making sure that this optimization is turned on in debug mode? Because I thought the entire point of the article is that they have made a marked speed up in production mode, not

If you're interested in this optimization for performance reasons, why would you want an otherwise non-optimized build? It seems that the only important case is the optimized build... where for some reason you're not getting this

Trying to shoehorn proper security into X11 would be a formidable effort and still be quite disruptive to client software. Back when Wayland was just being proposed there were not a lot of developers working on X. They almost-unanimously a
