For the most successful jobs I've had, they just looked at my resume and asked some general questions about prior work. I've also had several positions where I passed whiteboard hazings. Those didn't go as well. My theory i

I'm less concerned with whether it's original and more with whether it's a serious silent attack on my phone (yes?). And whether Google intends to fix the problem (no?).

Opinions differ, but I hope most will agree that the sooner human judgement is removed from the roadways, the better. Self-driving vehicles are apparently already safer than real-world human-driven vehicles, and there's little reason

That's one real argument against remote work I guess.

It has occasionally been used in a racist way, yes. In that sense, it's a racist symbol, just as the numbers 12, 13, and 14 are racist symbols. ADL, who seem to be the self-appointed arbiter of such things, says that most uses are not

Indeed you would. Which is why this sort of illegal behavior rarely happens. (Keep in mind that none of this is anonymous or forgotten--the exchanges and SEC know exactly who did what when.)

Skimmed that whole page, and now feel that I understand even less what it is than when I started. So, it's like a Smoodie?

The boring truth is that average Joes, who interact with the markets only via their retirement index funds, are better off with HFTs. Not necessarily a lot better off, but that's because HFTs really don't affect them much at al

Use all available lanes. If lanes are left empty ("for passing"), that effectively reduces the capacity of the roadways, leading to traffic. Let the downvotes commence...

Put them into a niche where they can be successful. Skill is secondary. What is really needed is a readiness to learn, an openness to new ideas (and old ones). A great programmer in the wrong niche can destroy a project.

This is entirely rational behavior. Without credible ironclad insurance to backstop one's risks, "hoarding" assets is the proper path to take.

It's not a terrible idea. Economics requires, though, that the flying experience be made awful enough on average that customers are just barely willing to fly, versus their best alternative.

Maybe. I did this for many years, and then by circumstance my overarching goal turned to dust. That's a lot to take. Make sure you're on a path that has some enjoyment in the now. Don't just suffer for some future pleasur

I've been through this as well, and it sucks. Sadly, even organizations doing societally important work can be incapable of policing their internal politics and professionalism in even a basic way. I'm still working on accepting
