While a nice idea, the problem is convincing people that compromise is a better alternative to winning.

The problem I have with this. Quantization must be a factor of wavelength and perhaps width of one slit. Yet the interference pattern produced by the double slit experiment depends on the distance between two slits. Diffraction pattern is n

I wonder why they just didn't get rid of normal job interview questions and let a natural conversation unfold. Surely they want to at least meet the person and get a feel for their character.

Physics isn't about equations. It's about models of the universe that suggest a certain underlying "working" of the system. If our models are not predicting observations....it just means we still haven't figured out

Isn't Steam full of games that would make Larry blush? I thought it was a mjor point of controversy. True they are not AAA titles, but it's not like the options aren't there.

Because advertising is about the cool factor, that's not why people drink soft drink. Conversely it is why tobacco advertising bans did work.

Banning the sale of != banning the thing itself. If the goal was a massive reduction, not total elimination, I think it would work. Would many people really go to the black market to get sugary Coke when the supermarket has shelves of Diet

Ok, but how is that abuse? And if autocomplete=off is part of the html standard, how are the password managers spec compliant if they can't deal with it? Are people doing this just to annoy users who prefer password managers?

But is Scumm on ARM just a thin layer converting Scumm "bytecode" to ARM machine code? Of course not, it is a full game engine just like on x86. A true Scumm emulator would translate Scumm script to another game engine like SGI (S

Another way to imagine an emulator - think of a thin layer of software that read Python byecode, and then dynamically translated it to Ruby bytecode on the fly. This would be neither a Python implementation nor a Python VM - but it would be

A virtual machine does not have to simulate real hardware. So long as it processes instructions and has a state it can be a VM. DosBOX is an example of an emulator. It is not an implementation of DOS, it just pretends enough to trick games

No it's a Scumm implementation. It's closer to a VM but really we just call it a game engine.

ScummVM isn't an emulator though. It's a game engine implementation for modern OSs.
