The fact that he’s idolizing Joe Rogan in the article tells you everything you need to know. Gladwell is the dictionary definition of “pseudo-intellectual.”

What benefit do you get from this line of thought? You could also be a brain in a jar. What would you change about your life or behavior?

This is what my 20s looked like… It took over 10 years in my 30s/40s to regain the ability to finish anything.

Great point—the basics like WB and exposure still get confused by something as simple as a field of green grass or a white wall.

When a VC-backed company shuts down, it's usually because they weren't growing. You can only get to the next round of funding if you're still growing—otherwise you run out of runway. I don't think profit plays a big role

The version is tied to the Image Signal Processor (ISP) of the A-series chip. So the A17 has Smart HDR 4, while the A18 has Smart HDR 5. Smart HDR uses neural image segmentation for tone mapping and other processing. In my opinion it goes w

I'm getting ready to launch an iOS app in the next couple of weeks, and this is gold! Does anyone have a perspective on Apple Search Ads vs Meta vs TikTok? I'm wondering what's worth the squeeze.

Exactly… with strong typing, you can do the refactor automatically, because the IDE knows everywhere that symbol is used. (For codebases in your control—for third party users, you can indicate that something has been deprecated or renamed v

Duck typing is so fragile… Once you have implementations that are depending on your naming or property structure, you can’t update the model without breaking them all. If you use a real type, you never have to worry about this.

Incredibly impressive on a technical level. The Carter avatar seems to swallow nervously a lot (LOL), and there's some weirdness with the mouth/teeth, but it's quite responsive. I've seen more lag on Zoom talking to peop

Missed opportunity. I would argue that the only way they CAN make these smaller models competitive is to make them openly available. As a developer, I'm not going to choose an unknown startup's model over bigger closed models from

I agree—I've used the analogy in the past, but I don't anymore. The reason is: with new home construction, there's a very clear move-in date. You can make additions or renovations, but most people are not constantly changing

This is the problem with “all or nothing” systems or routines. In fact, it’s the reason streaks don’t work for a lot of people in the long term. Once you miss one day you think “well, I’m hopeless, might as well give up.” The point is not t
