Completely made up and false conundrum. You can design devices that are easy to repair and still waterproof and sleek. This is a made up target-conflict that is easily resolved by any trained industrial designer and engineer.

Against Elections: The Case for Democracy, by David Van Reybrouck Really good book. Not sure if this would be the "perfect" system, but I think we should at least incorporate some aspects of it. One of my main issue with modern po

Been there for work a couple of days. I haven't ever been in a place that felt so fake and liveless. The only thing you can do is go to the mall. It's dystopian in every aspect.

I pitty everyone who is trying to hide their wealth by buying real estate in Dubai. The biggest penalty we could impose on them is make them live there.

One could argue it took ten years for Intel to have enough competition from ARM to actually wake up and do something again. I don't care, I got a 12th gen i7 with integrated graphics (in the weird time window and edge case where Intel

I very strongly disagree with your second paragraph. All the laws I know of in Germany that had trouble with the constitutional court were highly dubious. I think a law overturned by the constitutional court should be the end of a plotician

The biggest issue I have here is this: the EU is unable to uphold their own laws. They do things violating their own rules. They are unable to either patch their rules or stop the violation. I have seen similar things in German legislation,

It's not the EU who makes you do that, it's the companies making the website. They could not use cookies, they could respect DNT browser setting, they could have not abused tracking technology, and they couldmhave chosen to comply

Why do you think the french mindset is wrong? I didn't find a great up to date source, but the latest number I saw - French median wealth is almost 3 times Germany. That's with the Germans earning more on average, working more, wo

I don't believe this to be a good thing. If voting differently doesn't make a difference, then why vote? Is it actually a democracy if elections don't have any impact? Just as an example: in Germany there is now a SPD led gov

I'm sure that there is a lot of smart things that can reduce the amount of storage needed. I'm not a researcher in this field, I wanted to do simple but valid calculations that represent a realistic scenario, accepting being more

Hydrogen is not very efficient, hydro is very efficient. But the energy density for hydro is lower than people think. m * g * h -> you either need lots of water or lots of height. Best is to have both. You only get that in the Alps and y

90% is pretty close to the 50 days of empty battery. Keep in mind that on empty battery days, you still produce some energy as well. My approach was very very simple: if production is higher than consumption, store energy. Energy storage is

This was the most interesting finding: increasing production by 20% did more then increasing storage by 10x.

If your are using vscode with the rust analyzer plugin, you are constantly "compiling". This is how the inline hints, errors, typehints are done. My 3 year old i5 laptop struggled with this, my new desktop 12th gen i7 has the powe

Without judging whether it's true or not, it makes sense for a wall street insider to blame it on someone else, doesn't it? Everybody wants to be the good guy in the story, even wall street people.

First the companies offshored the jobs, now the employees offshore themselves. At some point, somebody will start asking why the Indian working remotely in India is paid less than the American/European expat working remotely from Bali.
