I see this as a small part of a much bigger picture: that "world" you refer to is a free market with property rights which IMO gives the best possible outcome for the society as a whole (refer to the "invisible hand" theory of Adam Smith).

Thanks for the link. What I find troubling is to read so many articles pointing to shady business practices from Groupon and bubble valuation, and still the SEC lets the IPO go through and investors lose their money - that part did not happ

I somehow have the feeling that moving out of GoDaddy won't protect you from any of this. Potentially the US "authorities" can take down your dot com domain (operated by Verisign), your hosting if in US, or maybe even prevent DNS resolution
