For everyone interested to change their DNS check out http://code.google.com/p/namebench/ For me 8.8.4.4 and others are faster and work better then the one provided by my ISP, at least it feels that way.

Thanks for the resources! I agree with regards to hands-on coding. I usually use books to learn the best practices of a certain language and to get a basic understanding. Nothing beats learning something new by solving a real problem.

Why would there be a need for a publisher? Where is the problem for Microsoft to just host the game on their servers, let people buy it off XBLA, keep a certain percentage of the money and forward the rest to the developers?

Easy payment is something we need to improve on. Online payment needs to become more accesible. We've got Google Checkout, PayPal, credit cards,... but they're all just proxies to where my money is (bank account). They all need to be set up
