I find I'm actually more productive now that I have a wife and 2 kids. When I have an hour to work on writing a play, programming, or even playing video games I'm much more focused. When I had tons of free time I spent a lot more time getti

Regardless of your politics. If any CEO doesn't understand the lack of moral character in making a statement like this, I wouldn't expect them to have the moral character to run a business. And I would run fast lest I be implicated in a cri

I'm recently converted to Stripe Connect for http://www.buyplaytix.com and I LOVE it. So far I haven't had a single ticket seller complain about having to switch over to it, and not one support request.

One thing you left out is that people make laws to try to stop people from moving in. Those laws make it harder to build which does not stop people from moving in, but makes housing more scarce which leads to higher prices. What would San F

Yeah, but he highlights a big reason for this. Nothing new gets built. All those good old days people constricted supply and then got pissed when the demand hiked prices and they could no longer afford it. You see this all over. Cool towns

His basic thesis holds. The 47% are mostly in red states. And in Mississippi $30k-$50k are almost certainly part of the 47% (since with children they would likely have zero income tax liability) and vote Republican. So basically you could s

Interestingly enough a rather surprising number of families in Austin live in apartments. 78741 has some of the highest number of children living close to downtown and 87% of the housing in the area is apartments. This fits with the importa

No. It wouldn't. The kids would be smart and might be able to overcome the adversity of going to an "excellent" school. But that's not the same thing at all. "Excellent" US schools have excelled at cheating and looking busy. Most "excellect

For instance, part of the reason governance in Washington is so bad is Congress in general, but as he points out, one should not discredit Rand Paul in particular for being a large part of the problem.

Man, in trying to discredit the value of government and highlight individuals he's getting dangerously close to wrapping back around to the fact that the government IS individuals - all of us US citizens in particular.

My theater company's Facebook page shows up so I guess people could still find us, but it's hardly the best way. My open source project shows up only because of my resume. I wouldn't use this. It finds stuff, but it's pretty much always the

Lamar Smith is pretty horrible on all fronts (and my new congressman thanks to some gerrymandering that looks like it was done on a Spirograph). But SOPA is probably not one of his greatest sins.

One way to fix this is something I did in the poster for my latest show. Put a box around it (like a fieldset) with the caption that explains where the user is going. In my case it said "Scan to Buy Tickets".

I agree with others. I think this could really be an interesting story if you took out the name calling. I'm always amazed by the number of people who use mean in ways that make people assume they're talking about median (or mix the two).

It sounds like this is more of a tarrif issue attempting to balance trade issues more than a straight tax. As such my hunch is this isn't going anywhere. And isn't it that countries would be allowed by the UN to tax US companies to fund net

Why exactly do we need IOS slaying apps? The IOS slaying part (which the Google CEO didn't seem to get) is that pretty much all apps work on both IOS and Android. Android's going to win because it has price and selection on its side. But th
