The car manufacturers just contract it out to companies like Johnson Controls, who make the system in my Mazda. It's running embedded linux and the interface is a bunch of javascript files. One of the bigger problems I see with this sy

The company I work at has Perforce tied to a homegrown code review tool that really makes it painful to use and in reality that's my main gripe with having to use it.

@Home was wide open around 1999ish. My friend would send random (if you can call goatse.cx random) print jobs to various open SMB printer shares. Ah, to be young again.

I thought 'perforce' when I saw the headline. Perforce is something I'm stuck with at my current job, unfortunately.

As a counter point, buying any 12-year old car (2002 model year would have been built in 2001ish) comes with it's own set of caveats. Also, there is more than enough information out there on common issues with Mk4 Volkswagen's of

It's a fine balance between efficiency, emissions, and safety. Cars in the US tend to be heavier by a few hundred pounds compared to the euro versions due to various safety requirements and the california emissions standards tend to se

Powerful stuff. I appreciate the parts that talk about the damage AA-based programs have done for the cause of recovery too. Medication and therapy can be very helpful when used in conjunction with effective recovery programs, a view advoca

The main problem I have with suggesting starting with MacVim is that using it doesn't translate well when you're SSH'd into another system running a different OS. I've been using Vim for a while (and now neovim) and rece

I'd venture to say "The one you know best". If you find yourself struggling to do something in the language of your choice, see how others are accomplishing it and then decide.

Does this do something like rebroadcasting the stream, or does it merely sync your place on a show using their own Netflix account?

Don't get me wrong, it isn't enough to make me hate the rest of the car. It drives great. About the only thing I use the infotainment system for is the neat fuel consumption statistics screen.

I regularly get 40+ MPG(US) on road trips in this little car. The info system being stupid is way overshadowed by how nice it is to drive, given the price. It's still a loud econobox with paper-thin sheet metal, but it drives a lot bet

Agreed. The 2015 Mazda3 we just bought has a horrible info/nav system that crashes and frequently stops responding. I'm guessing the actual chance of it ever being fixed at 0%. Tesla's get an automatic OTA update that would f

This varies quite a bit, but I've noticed it a lot more with music that uses studio compression to get more 'volume' than with music mastered for clarity.

Does it support IMAP IDLE? I've had to do some ridiculous workaround by forwarding my work and gmail accounts to icloud accounts just so I can get push working and none of the other email clients I have tried support it.

Can anyone get the docs page at http://www.sonnyjs.org/?home to scroll correctly? I have to zoom it way out to see everything. OSX 10.10.2/Safari on a 13" Retina display.
