Agreed, threads should be used only when true CPU concurrency is needed, and it is Too hard for most programmers to use (correctly). See John Ousterhout's presentation: http://www.cs.ubc.ca/~norm/508/2009W1/ouster95threadsbad.pdf

As stated in the web site: Compared with Tokyo Cabinet, KC is superior in concurrency, usability, and portability. Although time efficiency for single-thread is better in TC, I recommend KC from now on because multi-core/many-core CPU has b

In you article, you mentioned 'Dots are not allowed in BSON document keys. Typically it might not be a problem, but we had to work around it in our data migration.' Do you have more information?

It reminded me an old presentation - "Why Threads Are A Bad Idea (for most purposes)", a little bit old, but still contains a lot of truth. http://www.cs.ubc.ca/~norm/508/2009W1/ouster95threadsbad.pdf [slide5] What's Wrong With Threads? -

If client missed the version information in their request, you can send the request to the earliest supported version of the API by default. This is how Google handle it and I think it make sense. http://code.google.com/intl/zh-TW/apis/gda

I think it is okay. E.g. if you are programming GData client, it suggest you to add version info (i.e. GData-Version: X.0 ) in the request header. http://code.google.com/intl/zh-TW/apis/gdata/docs/developers...
