I’m not sure from the readme how this compares to direnv which seems to do the same thing.

Have we leaned nothing from XMPP? If Meta comes in now it’s far more likely that it isn’t going to enhance ActivityPub, it’s going to eat it.

With flakes it seems a lot easier to understand where all the parts are coming from. You give it git repo urls and it gives you a workable package. If you want to use a branch, or unstable, or whatever, it’s right there in the flake. Also,

I recently flipped my config over to a flake, and I’m glad I did. Feels like flakes are just easier to understand with less mystery.

I was ok with that except all the way through the words “product design”, because I do think that’s a fair thing to collect data for… but it kind of went off the rails after that.

I was drawn to helix specifically because it is excellent without the need for plugins. LSP and tree-sitter grammars carry so many of the features I had to add to vim and emacs—over years of configuring—that I feel like I’m not missing anyt

When I was starting up a small business, Stripe decided that it needed to “verify my activity” or some such nonsense and withheld all of my payments for several weeks. Meaning that I could not pay my team. As far as I can tell, a client pai

I’m still not entirely clear on what the vision pro can and can’t do. Is it an iPad or a Mac? If it has access to a terminal so that I can do web development on it I will buy one day one. If it doesn’t, maybe not… but I can’t seem to find t

I’m an initial user, and I don’t feel screwed over fwiw. I always knew that the site was going to come with a cost, and that’s why I’m using kagi; I would rather that cost be money than invasive advertising ruining my search results. I feel

I almost never drink, maybe a couple times a year socially. However, I get a drink or two every time I’m flying. Flying (well, navigating airports) is stressful, and the long gaps between flights are boring. That combination always seems to

As others have said, lemmy is a viable alternative. Just beware that their flagship instance is pretty terrible in terms of political content. Maybe check out beehaw.org

I use the miryoku layout for this. There are other options that do this in similar ways, but I’ve found this one to meet all my needs. It was kind of designed around emacs, so modifier keys are well supported. https://github.com&

Thanks for taking the time to write this up. I’m thrilled that there is some motion happening to make social a bit less terrible and your write up is maybe the most objective, least rhetorical commentary I have seen on bluesky so far (side

I think it’s important to say this: I think asking questions is great, and I’m glad that we’re not just taking statements at face value because making social suck less is a worthy goal. However, you are coming across as highly adversarial h

I’ve used turbolinks on a few backend driven projects, but mostly with rails, and hotwire replaced that nicely enough. I really only used it because from the users perspective it’s hard to tell that you’re not using a SPA. I really like the

Nah, that’s not the hasty generalization fallacy. They didn’t say “bitcoin allows for crime to happen”, they said bitcoin has been the center of a huge amount of actual financial crime. I think that’s the observation fallacy, where you look
