Can second Windows Sandbox - 3s startup time, can copy things into it and it does like 85% of what I need completely isolated. I mainly use it to test silent install flags when I'm deploying apps or running untrusted things :)

true, VPNs can be a ZTA building block when coupled with identity-aware policy (Tailscale et al) I think when most think VPNs though they're talking enterprise ICT VPNs that historically don't play in that space :(

From memory and vague experience, if Defender detects another registered AV product it disables its engine. Techniques used by non OEM AV's to get the telemetry and visibility they need to make decisions probably aren't "safe
