Using the GPL is not really comparable to saying something foolish or wrong, and is certainly not comparable to cheating on a spouse. Such arguments reek of anti-GPL zealotry.

I too find the CLA decision a bit strange, though I have no issue with their dual to single license transition. Dual-licensing under MIT and GPL is effectively like licensing under MIT; if someone wants to write a proprietary fork, or a GPL

I don't like how you brand Denis-Courmont a zealot or bad apple for not letting others break the license terms of his code. He licensed his code under the GPL for a reason, and if someone doesn't like his license, they shouldn't expect him

While they are similar in some ways, they are not as similar as the article makes them out to be. From images I found elsewhere, the iMac seems to have its components behind the screen, and a very thin stand, while the Spectre One seems to

The FSF uses the words lax and permissive to describe licenses which do not have the requirements of the GPL ( http://www.gnu.org/licenses/license-list.html ), and describe the GPL as a copyleft license. If you want to describe the GPL with

Many times, improvements come from just iterating over the text and rewriting parts of it. Native speakers will need less iterations, and very few people can write really well the first time round.

While 8 kHz is low if you look at the carrier of the speech signal, which is something like the pitch of the speech, it is pretty high compared to the envelope frequency of the speech signal. You do not move your jaw, tounge and lips at any

I know it's not ftp over ssh. I meant what I said in the context of the original comment; if ssh is the ftp replacement, then there is an application which transfers files over ssh with commands similar to those of ftp, which is sort of a c

It's not as simple as that. Confirming something will make it more attractive to build on and extend. And it will save time that would be spent looking for fundamentally different theories.

I guess the plural in some languages is used to address royalty. And about the usage of "they", I tend to use it, and the only thing that I find a bit strange is sentences like: "If a user needs something, they have to do something." Note "

I don't get the point. Why not use the generic function type? void *(*routine)(void *) If you have a function already, just create a simple wrapper once. In the code shown, the wrapping has to be done by the caller of apply(). And

There are quite a few privacy concerns about these technologies, and I think that proper legislation is necessary to address them. Most people trust a bank to hold their money, and there is legislation to control financial institutions. Now

I don't know if it's only me, but I saw the young male stereotyping as a way to justify their behaviour, as in: it's not that bad, it's just boys being boys. The things that were really bad were the things dealt with later.

It seems that the meaning of "fair" depends on the location. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-10869722 "Fair" is one of those concepts that doesn't quite mean the same thing on either side of the Atlantic.
