I would think that they are talking about clock frequency. They do say that you can either have the 37% performance increase, or use less than half the power when at the same performance.

I agree that there are too many comments. Perhaps a fix would be to discourage users from commenting by asking them politely not to. For example, the "add comment" box could be removed from the story page, and you might need to click on a l

I'm not sure pointer arithmetic on function pointers is standard C. Using the -pedantic flag, gcc 4.5.2 does give a "warning: pointer to a function used in subtraction".

The man page says that if path is omitted in find [path...] [expression] the current directory is used. I don't know if it's just that way for GNU find, or if it's standard Posix find behaviour. Regarding the wildcards in search st

Is 22π equal to 2 times 2π or is it equal to 11 times 2π? That is, is 22π equal to 2(2π) or (22)π? If 2π is a single symbol, then 22π would be equal to 2(2π), which would be really confusing.

Looking for files in the article is completely broken. To look for a file named syslog.conf, you need to say find -name syslog.conf otherwise find will not look for that filename in all subdirectories. So the shown find /etc/

I really don't see the point of the tone the article adopts. If it is aimed at C++ users, badly mouthing C++ can only put them off what could be useful advice. If it is aimed at C++ bashers, they don't need the C++ advice anyway.

How does the article get it right? If the answer can be "him", the question should be "whom", and if the answer can be "he", the question should be "who". Having said that, "Whom am I speaking with?" does sound pretty weird, "With whom am I

I am not saying that division is not expensive, or that the modulo operator is not just as expensive. I am only pointing out that the modulo operator is not more expensive that division.
