The logic in the `catch` block could be complex enough that they got an if/else backwards or something like that. E.g., they could catch an exception and then have the body of the `catch` return six different error messages based on de

Spain has had train security even on long-distance domestic journeys at least since I lived there in 2008. I suspect it's a reaction to the train bombing they had, but don't quote me.

We had friends who got Domino's every Thursday. On days when they hadn't called by a certain time, Domino's would call them and ask if they wanted their usual. (This was in Tegucigalpa in the '90s, fwiw)

That's the US market! And yes, you could earn something like that if you work remotely for an American company. (I moved from Chicago to the UK and took my salary with me. It's been nice!)

I've certainly experienced it in UK cities (Edinburgh, Glasgow, London…). Agreed that rural/small-town pubs and 'old man pubs' tend to be pleasant and at a reasonable volume.

Scotland is particularly interesting to me since language occurs on a continuum between Scottish Standard English (SSE) and the Scots language. SSE features unique words ("The word 'outwith' is not used outwith Scotland"

I write Lisp professionally and love s-expressions, but the comparison with ALTER TABLE's grammar is pretty unfair. Postgres can detect many invalid ALTER TABLE formulations by checking the grammar, whereas in Lisp it's much easie

I specialize in 18th-century Scottish music and generally find that the hand-engraved copperplate printing from the 18th-century produces more readable music than modern editions. I also play stuff like Corelli sonatas (easy to read) from f

I sort of miss that era of PIM, and would love to have a modern PDA with a monochrome LCD, great battery life, fold-out keyboard, and—critically—the ability to easily sync with Gmail and Google Calendar. As far as I can tell the syncing sto
