The easy solution, and this is what a lot of newspapers in Germany do, atleast for most stories, is to not use the real name or only a shorted (ie, Albert E. or Qubert T. instead of Albert Einstein).

Atleast on mastodon you can blacklist. Whitelisting nodes is counterproductive to what federation is trying to achieve. A decentralized network means that if things go sour, the cost of switching is small, similar to an email account. If my

Federation is a form of decentralization. What you're looking for is federated vs peer-to-peer decentralization. Friendi.ca is federated and decentralized.

I wouldn't call three of those p2p and one of them doesn't even deserve the description "encrypted". The probably is that the proper p2p encrypted messaging tools have a UI that either absolutely sucks or they have other

I don't think it's necessarily "know it all". Atleast for me, the subjectivity of morality merely means that everyone's morality is correct. Of course, I will disagree when someone claims something is a natural X or

That's also valid but I like to know exactly what type of DB is running (SQLDB runs Mysql and Postgres Nodes for example) so I can quickly jump and find servers without much thinking.

This is not my experience. AMP is consistently slower than normal desktop pages or mobile pages when offered. I've measured this myself on my own phone countless times. CNN is also probably one of the worst offenders, so the example is

I tap "Request Desktop Page" when I use google search and I mostly rely on search engines that don't pull the AMP crap at all.

The first point in the article is the dead killer of AMP for me. My mobile provider gives me very little monthly data, I've stopped using AMP because preloading the AMP results is eating through my cap, with images disabled. Without pr

IIRC people on mastodon are working on making an identity independent of the home server so you can migrate elsewhere. I don't think subscribing to moderation is particularly useful, I considered such an approach at some point but the

That's somewhat what federation solves. You pick out an instance which represents a particular way of moderating. You can still listen in on (most) of the other network. If you don't like the moderation/government of your ins

There is plenty of restriction on various TLDs. If you don't like them you can always register in another TLD with less strict rules or run your own DN System.

It's the registrar rules being enforced exactly like they always have been. The Rules say "EU only". If the UK is no longer in the EU then the simply conclusion is that the domain ownership will be revoked.

I quite like the Thinkpad look. The design is somewhat iconic and it does put function over form (my T450 has a battery butt on the underside, it's ugly as heck but I can work for 8 hours uninterrupted no problem)
