You can somewhat mitigate the typo problem with integers by encoding them to the outside with parity included. An 8 bit parity should be able to easily tell any possible typo in a 32 or 64bit integer and even correct errors. You could even

Keep in mind that JSONB is different than JSON in PG. The later will not transform the JSON simply check consistency and has limits and performance hits. JSONB is encoded and will transform your JSON, it will drop duplicate keys and order m

Keeping things for tax purposes requires no consent, same for anything you are legally required to keep record off. Video cameras most certainly fall under legitimate interest (as long as you follow the law about using surveillance in your

Git is a blockchains. I don't see any rules that a consensus algorithm needs to be non-human or that only a single chain can be authorative. Git is a blockchain that has none of the usual problems of blockchains since the arbiter is a

I think they were interested in getting answers from Zuck but with how the session turned out, I think most of them have most of the answers they need even if Mark didn't speak it out loud.

Considering the modern role of BGP it's probably a bit like playing battleship on the controls of two nuclear power plants using the power grid.

From what I understood in my recent statistics course, the p-value is the probability of receiving a specific result considering the null hypothesis is true. It's usually compared by using some distribution model (binomial, etc.) over

When you go to another country, you follow the law there. If you break it, expect punishment. That doesn't mean the law is okay but the country is fully free to punish you as they see fit. > Nazi symbols were completely normal and e

But why is there no static fallback for when some script doesn't work? BetterReddit allows me to use both methods concurrently on the old design, why is the new design limited to a method that doesn't work for me?

To some extend I sympathize with GP because your post is exactly why I'm currently not using nix or guix. While it's neat that I can do introspection on my package graph, I don't immediately see any benefit for me when I star

Some minor Obfuscation should be okay "mail at example dot com" => "mail@example.com" and similar. Plus I'm fairly certain providing temporary mail addresses (with decent lifetime) would also be okay. Specialised

If those create any abuse then you can still contact the registrar. From what I understand the eventual plan for WHOIS to only allow access if there is truly legitimate interest. Everything else can be filtered over the registrar.

In germany there is an imprint requirement so you'll always have a contact point for these things. Unlike WHOIS it's on a website so you can protect this information much more easily from scraping and spamming.

Usually for the serializable isolation level you need to manually rerun the transaction. There are some DBs that do that for you like CockroachDB.

Essentially yes. You'll need something like Firefox Sync or providers will have to implement a way of adding devices. However the WebAuthn API also leaves options for password managers and other endpoints managing the actual secrets.

Sorta, Client Certs but the Client generates and authenticates them, the Server only stores the fingerprint and authenticates them on it's side. And with a better UI and flow since you don't need it to establish connection.
