Yes, Go maintains strict backwards compatibility, you can apply everything from the book no problem (unless it exploits a go bug which I don't think it does), though you'l miss out on the shiny new stuff.

I'll def keep an eye on this until it supports Bookmark imports (I'm on a selfhosted shaarli instance atm)

The comment presented words without context then claiming it was hateful, my argument holds.

If words are hateful they must be so with adequate context.

Except the last part, which as I said, is missing a lot of context. Hate is Content times Context. If there is no Context then there is therefore no Hate. A mere text is not a hateful statement, text has no intentions or feelings, it cannot

You've left out a lot of context there.

The fasthttp library is good if you don't need to support corner cases of HTTP and you don't need HTTP/2. If that is given, yes, it's faster.

It might be related to git and not Gogs/Gitea itself. I've found Gitea to handle larger repos fine after running the following: git config --global core.packedGitWindowSize 16m git config --global core.packedGitLimit 64m g

Rewrite the document. Swap around chapters and sections, use your own words, TLDR some sections, remove/replace images, etc.

I was referencing restore costs. You can have B2 send you a Harddrive containing the contents of a bucket and send it back to get a restore for cheap.

IIRC You can have them send you a harddrive with your data on it and you'll get the cost of the drive refunded if you send it back to them within 90 days or so.

I consider them more insecure than a reasonably well made password manager, all that is between you and any possible site you will ever register on or have registered on, is a master password. On the other hand, I can change my Lastpass

Currently using B2 for syncing my restic backups. It's pretty nice and cheap even compared to AWS Glacier.

That looks very nice, I've been looking for places to put my backups, though I'm using Restic, is there any information on supporting that? Their documentation/faq pages don't work properly...

Lazy I guess. The JWT Lib does most of the work and I just stuff in the Ed keys on both ends, don't need to do anything beyond that.

I kinda went over the standard on that. The Go library I use allows to define custom algorithms, so I just set alg to ED2 and use it. It's within the app only so it doesn't hurt much. Also agree, it's rather frustrating that

From what I see GUFW is rather simplistic and doesn't do application-level and Firewall Builder looks rather complicated.

JWT with RSA or Ed25519 is definitely not a bad idea there.

I find this idea good, github stars and number of forks is usually not a great metric to measure the quality of a project. (Tho contribution rate is probably not perfect either but atleast we know the project is active)

I like this. Linux has been missing a personal firewall with good GUI for a looong time. I'll probs give it a try on a VM and see how well it works.

I have no problem with Wine if it's about running applications outside a security context and are no longer being developed, most of the time I prefer to use a VM. The problem is that using Wine tells the 1Password devs that they don&#

I have no intention of installing the dependencies for wine, notably the lib32 stuff. Secondly, if they treat Linux as second class I'll treat them second class. Lastpass even has a cli client for Linux in addition to working on all th

I used the K2A app which frequently was unable to enter a password or lost sync of the master database in various ways. The LP app has been much more pleasant.

Well, I'd love to use something other than Lastpass but there are no other password managers that are as well integrated into chrome and that sync seamlessly. Keepass had tons of issues on the synch-side, merging incorrectly or just pl

I remember reading up on the BND (German Intelligence Agency) Guidelines on how they wipe their data. They basically wipe the drive first and verify it appears to be wiped and then shred it. The highest level allows for only 0.5mm^2 sized p
