The name definitely seems to distract the discussion away from the code and the project. We started this project over a year ago before Feedly was famous. Now it's indeed confusing, but changing an open source project's name is qu

So we've built Feedly for our startup Fashiolista.com It's quite a large project for a team of 4 though. Therefor we are actively looking for more contributors. Let us know if you're interested in helping out.

Yes we are considering adding HBase. In general adding new backends is quite easy. It however takes a while to figure out the backend dependent performance tweaks. So a company running HBase and Feedly in production would be of great help.

We currently support Redis and Cassandra fully. Cassandra has a very high maintenance overhead so we definitely recommend you to start with Redis. More info here: http://feedly.readthedocs.org/en/latest/choosing_a_

Their setup is very similar to what we use at Fashiolista. (though of course we only have millions and not hundreds of millions of users). We've open sourced our approach and you can see an early example here: https://github

I completely disagree, my company (Fashiolista) advertises almost exclusively on Facebook. The results are great. My reasoning why Facebook works so well can be found here: http://www.mellowmorning.com/2011/09/21/5-ways-in-which-face...

People are already using Django Facebook for canvas pages. It's a bit alpha at the moment though. Might have to tweak some things while working with it. Should be more stable in the coming releases.

Whow, friend just forwarded this to me. Cool to see my project on HackerNews. I'm still brushing up the docs, not quite perfect yet. But to explain what it does: Django Facebook enables your users to easily register using the Facebook API.

Over at Fashiolista.com we do something similar. The setting system has 3 levels. Default, environment and local. Maybe we'll opensource it at somepoint, not yet entirely happy with it though.

What crap, just go to a company which does pay well. I'm a coder myself and my startup Fashiolista pays competitively. (Amsterdam though)

Nice, really happy about this. Hopefully our patches will finally get to go through. If you're in Europe and working with Django have a look at our Job openings, http://djangogigs.com/gigs/1182/
