No one here is going to defend Glen Beck, so at best it would just be a one-sided conversation congratulating ourselves for realizing how irrational he is. This doesn't seem like a productive use of anyone's time.

Gandhi died before he was awarded the Peace Prize, even though he was nominated five times. Obama gets it less than a year into his Presidency? I like Obama, but that's just wrong.

I really appreciate you sharing this. Reading a story like this doesn't have a direct applicable impact on my life at this moment, but I feel I am better for having read it.

I'm pretty sure one of the most notable things about Google is Larry and Sergey's ability to avoid this, going back all the way to when they raised VC. They split the funds between rival firms Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and Sequo

You'd think they'd act like grown-ups before the press, given media's tendency to blow things out of proportion. But nope, not Schmidt. The person acting like a child is not who you think it is.

I've noticed it's pretty much been the standard the past week or so. 5 minute 'apt-get' tutorials have been ranging between 10-20 as well.

Another garbage 5 minute tech tutorial on the front page. If you can't figure this out on your own you shouldn't be responsible for your site's SSL cert, or anything else related to security.

That's a dumb reason to vote up an article. If I submitted the man page of vim, would you upvote it? The man page is actually more useful than this blog post. It's not about the subject, it's about the content.

I don't know what uggedal's reason is, but mine has to do with the JVM. Deploying nativity on the JVM is a pretty big deal. You've got entire enterprises with vested interest in your deployment platform and a Lisp as your language.

Actually, I would imagine the odds are worse than that. Not all startups give away their product for free, and I'm guessing the failure rate is higher for those that do. But I don't see the problem with that. Software companies that want
