Part that bothers me about Python is no special binding form, that is you could just do x = 3 to add x variable to my environment, and second is not-strict lexical scoping. From other perceptive, these usually bother me when my functions ar

Just wanted to add that you don't have to use continuations as such. I don't have any benchmarks on stateless web server, so can't say about its performance.

Good to know! I followed the tutorial and they were using it there, and didn't see the docs after that. I see that the Matt's blog handles the problem with request-binding himself, by doing ensuring encoding conversions, and gets

How exactly are you hung up with form data? Its low level, so you certainly can't get validation out of box, but otherwise in my experience getting form data out is fairly straight forward. I recently wrote my first Racket web app. Its

Speaking of zero-boilerplate game framework for education, you may also want to look at big-bang framework which is part of HTDP 2e course[1]. Also you could compile those Racket games to run on your browser[2] [0] http://www.ccs

Any recommendation to get started with Haskell for a person who is pretty comfortable with functional programming (Racket, OCaml)?

I just bought refurbished XPS 13 with Windows because I wanted to save some money. Ubuntu wont work out of the box. There are whole bunch of issues that I'm still trying to resolve. So even if hardware is compatible, you may have hard

I studied this topic mainly from Algorithms text by Kleinberg/Tardos[1]. Like everything else, if you interested in proving problems NPC, read few examples from book and practice some on your own. Proving problems NPC of some common pr

I'm coming to NEU this spring and excited to see Scheme there. I followed few chapters from SICP some time ago, and am curious how similar/different is HTDP from SICP?

I never worked much with JS, but from my experience I find it hard to imagine writing such a big application in JS. It is so easy to do things wrong in JavaScript. Weak types, global namespace, ambiguous and unexpected behaviours.

I don't use IPython, so I dunno what exactly IPython gives. However, DrRacket does allow images as input and output directly in REPL and source[1] Another cool DrRacket feature for beginners as well as experienced is its debugging feat

Thanks for reply. Can you shed some light on notice period policy by companies? Many companies have reasonable period like 2 weeks to a month, however some ask for like 2-3 months.

I've heard the same. However I see many companies making employees signing bonds openly, including big ones such as Infosys, Accenture. Is there some loophole in law?
