I can't tell if you're trolling by stating deliberately untrue statements or you have some insane thought process where this statement makes sense to you. The chromebook is deliberately and consciously a closed platform. You can&#

Fox pass has a nice hosted ldap solution which includes ssh key management.

I tried to deploy them to grant developers limited time access to the hosts running their services. Didn't really work out and I killed the project.

You have to build a new ssh CA for each class of server. There's no mechanism for granting access by host name. This becomes unmanageable fast.

I've worked in large scale Linux systems administration for a decade. The pi is a really great way to get started in my field (although of course I am saying this as an established professional, not someone who learned on them)

"Getting started with Raspberry Pi" is the best introduction to Linux systems I have ever seen. Simple language, exhaustive, informative.

Stop posting paywalled articles. If we ignore them they fail and go away.

There is some truth to this. People outside the Bay Area might not be aware of the slow and careful progress google has been making in creating a safe self-driving car. Compared to the Uber approach of just YOLOing the prototypes onto the s

California has adopted a system where new development requires approval from the people already there. If you like where you live you might block and attempt to change it. The evidence shows that in such a system people will block any and a

Your story has a more sinister moral. Wealth and privilege can allow people to achieve statistically better life outcomes. Conquering aging would be nice, reserving it for a select few will simply exacerbate the existing inequality in the w

Tensorflow. We're going to be offloading a lot of pattern matching to machine learning. Knowing when and where (and of course how) to apply machine learning will become increasingly important.

Renters fight new construction too. "Gentrification will raise our rents". It's absurd how hard it is to get a permit to build in SF. Mountain View fought new housing construction for a decade as google was ramping up. Nobody

It's always worth it to automate, just adjust your timeframe and internalize the admin cost. As someone who has done it both ways, let me assure you --you don't want had crafted bespoke servers. You want generic and repeatable.

Thanks. I can't fathom why it's so hard to imagine people not knowing wtf local might mean. There were a bunch of aws admin rackers in SF. I wonder what happened to them.
