   My guess is that most of these "miracle technologies" won't work out the way we hope, but that doesn't mean it isn't interesting to track their progress. Plus the research being done on them might still be useful. U

   I'm not qualified to discern the quality of most of this post, but its tone disturbed me, and I agree that I find most of the ad hominem stuff really distasteful.
