Same here, my first reaction was looking for a way to punish such a behaviour. I then opened the same URL from a private window outside the VM I was using on the same laptop, and from a different IP (disabling the socks proxy I usually use)

Just curious, does tools like truecrypt ensure such way of finding the key could not be used? I guess so, meaning wannacry has room for improvements besides the killswitch thingie.

The result is neat. Unfortunately since whatsapp refuses to provide an API, it is very cumbersome to export each chat sessions manually. Have you found a workaround for this?

How about sharing the output via WiFi / Bluetooth? That seems quite risky tho, once the device is infected, that would be like washing all your dishes with the toilet sponge. What is the goal of having to reboot at each cycle?

I chose to replace duplicity with borg backup because I needed to backup a headless server and I found borg pruning to be much simpler to script than duplicity. `borg prune -v --list $REPOSITORY --prefix '{hostname}-' --keep-daily
