Thanks, let's hope so, making it in Ubuntu 20.04 will be a huge success since Ubuntu LTS versions are used heavily and supported by all major cloud vendors

I've read this article and I am yet to conclude why Go and not Rust. All your talk is very generic and no proof or concrete argument to support article title.

I hope you just do your job and prevent those systematic organized promotional posts by such companies on HN to get free advertising. The entire accusation in OP turned out to be invalid in the end as shown in many top voted comments. YOU k

What's funnier is that Brave """product""" is nothing more but a theme over Chrome that any 12 yo kid can do in 2 hours, an adblocker based on FOSS blacklists and some compilation flags that prevent Google

Okay, what if I want to offer total freedom to users but not for other competing companies? There is no single license that can protect a company that creates a FOSS product. It's just ridiculous that a company creates a product for fr

this is totally beyond me. So a company making a profit from a product made by another company by just hosting it is not exploitation? Does this happen in any industry? A company that makes product for free and another takes it as is and se

afaik the user doesn't pay for MongoDB, you can use it freely, read the code, modify; if I understand correctly SSPL is basically AGPL/GPL but with clause that cloud vendors that want to use this product to provide a SaaS version

Can somebody tell me what is wrong is SSPL? I just don't understand what this hostility is all about. A company creates a crucial infrastructure component which is a database, open sources it, everybody can use it for free, cloud vendo

The thing is Google is punishing me for using Firefox with recaptchas everywhere. Recaptchas with Firefox needs like 5 or even more attempts (the slow ones) while Chrome is resolved automatically or just one attempt at maximum.

It's amazing that one person can do all this. It really takes a huge amount of dedication, knowledge and high IQ to invent a language from scratch alone. I think he is trying to Rustify Golang which is a thing I always wanted to do bef

This is amusingly uninformed. Describing Brave as adware is generous to say the least, Brave is more of a scam than a business. The kind of scams you would find in tech bubbles like what happened in late 1990s.
