Is it really true that there hasn't been co-mingling of user data between properties already? It seems hard to believe that most user data didn't at least "leak" into their advertising businesses, which presumably is where you'd be worried

I wonder which of the prestige investors that Sarah just closed told her to write these Google hit pieces. Good old valley "journalism".

For chain of custody etc. you always need to make a master copy and sign/hash it and then work off of a copy. If you tried to do forensics on the actual computer as seized you'd be busy destroying disk & memory evidence as you worked.

Perhaps I don't understand some dynamic here, but what prevents someone from just stating that they no longer know the pass phrase? I thought that was more or less a free pass, as no one can prove what you do or don't remember. Hence why th

I was inquiring more about the backend js use in node and mongo. You might, for instance, find that simply sanitizing user input isn't enough when you're using the same interpreted language at multiple stages. If an attacker could cause the

How vulnerable are all javascript approaches in terms of injection type attacks? Do apps like node and mongo effectively prevent them, or is it still possible to shoot yourself in the foot? I've read some off hand comments along the lines o

Windows XP launched more than 10 years ago. What I said was true for Vista (5 years old) and 7 (2 years old) and is true for Windows 8 afaik. I'm not sure what your point would be - that you'd pirate Windows 8 because you didn't approve of

Windows activation is shockingly easy. Enter your key and when you go online it verifies it. If you're not connected to the internet make a 5 minute phone call. If you don't want to do that, no problem - there is no need to activate for up

As of right now 9 out of 30 items on the front page are about SOPA/PIPA. While I understand people are quite riled up, perhaps voters would be willing to willing to raise the bar a bit in terms of what qualifies as newsworthy?
