Not having IE7 support is a pretty nasty limitation though, if you're developing a commercial web site.

I looked into round robin dns recently (for performance reasons, not for reliability), but decided not to go there just yet. I'm curious - I keep hearing that some clients don't support this. Which clients are that in particular? Is it a re

Is that a contrived scenario or are you thinking about something concrete? Curious as to what that might be.

Couldn't this cause a race condition if two admins try to apply changes at the same time? Without a centralised repository, I presume that you would need to introduce a locking mechanism on a per-node level, so one would: take lock, run noo

I really dislike that whole idea of an intro/extrovert dualism. I don't consider myself one or the other. Most people who know me would probably describe me as introverted, but I don't have any problem letting myself be heard or taking lead

While we're en the teritory of anecdoteism, let me add that as a manager, I am much more inclined to hire someone over 30. Not only do they tend to have more experience and thus be technically better skilled, but they also tend to be better

Maybe. But they certainly filter out some candidates that can program. If the aim is to find the best possible candidate (And from the postings it sounds like they aim high), filtering out good candidates is probably a bad strategy.

Presumably, the benefit of a hybrid would be that it is as resourceful as a human, but can be treated as bad as an ape. I don't have a source at hand, but I'm fairly sure that there is good evidence to support that slavery is a less effecti

I wonder. Between Fabric and Chef, what do you feel you need to add to the mix? Provisioning of machines perhaps? Personally, we're using Puppet for server admin and some cobbled together shell scripts, for app deployment. The latter is hea

Exactly my thoughts. Most of EU has similar tax/vat and generally in favor of employees. Yet it's not a problem to start a company in the "west block". He complains about corruption too, though. I can believe that being an issue i Hungary.

If you left them with an impression you don’t agree with, the fact of the matter is you did leave them with that impression so you simply need to figure out how to make the same mistakes next time round. Or, you know, how to avoid them ;)

Just a few quick observations: The formatting is non-existant. That makes me angry. Because I have OCD. Most programmers do. There's a lot of direct use of DOM traversing, which makes the code rather brittle. (Use a css selector for binding
