All right, a lot of people have commented about bad experiences with free transportation. I had a good one about free buses: I lived for a couple years in the north of France in Compiegne (where the ww2 armistice was signed). Buses were fre

I used it a couple months ago for my girlfriend's resume ( http://rachelsmuseum.com/ ). The big problem is that it does not work at all on small screens/tablets/phones. The resume is not super practical, but I

I believe this is dependent on the teacher, I've had two teachers in France in my senior year. The first one was definitely of the "swallow and regurgitate what I tell you", while the second one was angry at students rereading notes before

I don't think it's really cheaper than making your own food. If you buy it for a month and you eat it three times a day, it ends up being about $2.5 per meal, or $7.5 a day. My breakfast costs me $.5 to $1, so that leave $3.5 per meal. It's

The same thing happened in New Jersey, but the state took the matters in hand, and effectively suspended the cameras last summer ( http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/2012/06/is_your_local_red_l... ). I was flashed in Newark, after a very shor

I'm French living in Jersey. I have been to San Francisco, even though it's blatant when you walk here, everywhere in the US I have that feeling that the poor are really forgotten. And they live in third-world country conditions. In France,

I made a kind of todo/list pet project with html5 local storage earlier. All the front end was based on that storage, then it was only a matter of syncing. To do that I kept a queue in local storage, that I only emptied after a successful s

Causality dilemma? People who get married young are different from those getting married later. The age at which people get married is more a reflection of a life style, than what drives a particular life style; which is what this article s

The exact same thing happened to me with http://viadeo.com/ , a linkedin clone pretty popular in France. The way it was worded hinted that I could chose from contacts who were on both my gmail contacts and viadeo users to connect with the

From my point of view, the min-heap is appropriate to pop/peek the min value (O(1)), but how do you 'peek' the first 5 values for instance? This is a valid min-heap: (5 ((7 (9, 10)), (8 (11, 12)))). Where in (a (b, c)) b and c are children

The optical fiber network in France is actually way better than in the US. And it only costs ~32 euros a month with Free with triple play. Certainly cheaper than the ~100 usd it costs with Verizon (+ bs additional costs). I pay 56 usd here

I have been using Free for years, and now that I moved across the pond, I can safely say that Free is at least on par with Verizon for Youtube, probably better. And if we simply ignore the Youtube issue, Verizon is years behind Free, there
