And yes you must still trust Coinomi, Apple, TSMC, certificate signing entities, etc.. To be totally sure you could do all the math on a piece of paper and send crypto to the public key you generated by hand.

Step 6: unless you reviewed the source code, there’s no telling the key it generates is not compromised. A wallet like Coinomi on an iPhone is a secure enough platform to keep your crypto on.

I can play semantics too. Like you're not really 'investing' when you buy a stock, you just bought a share from someone else. Your hurr crypto bad because NFTs and 3AC is basic association fallacy. The problem is the dollar w

You say it's not trusted and yet the most volume in crypto (around 46 billion) is being traded every day it. Are you sure you're not just in your own thought bubble?

Just as companies like Celsius offered a high interest rate on Bitcoin, and lots of people moved their money into Bitcoin; the government can do the same by changing interest rates which incentivize people to move their money to/from d

Wrong - Savings accounts, treasury bills, and CDs are all ways to invest dollars and make returns in kind. The dollar itself though will not appreciate, it will continue to deflate due to unstoppable money printing. Bitcoin doesn't hav

It's pretty simple, all the Bitcoin 'manipulation' you see is simply buying/selling open market coins. Not selling massive quantities of newly minted coins. The government on the other and has minted and spent trillions

The government can short term manipulate the dollar and as a result the dollar value of various assets. That's what causes the short term volatility. Long term though the value of assets resistant to manipulation will go up, while the

I guess it works both ways, people panic sell and panic buy. Neither are smart moves.

I'm not upset either. The dollar is a stable because of manipulation though unfortunately over the long term it does lose value. The cost of stability. Crypto on the other hand I do expect to go up over the long term while being short

There are many theories about everything. Sorry the ones you bought into didn’t work out. Most of us aren’t surprised that when the dollar is manipulated that other asset classes’ dollar values change as well.

Like stocks, don't confuse short term volatility with long term performance. The fed is expert at manipulating short term valuations, but their manipulations only hold for so long before they have to lower or raise rates again.

For every seller there is a buyer, and many are buying stocks and crypto right now at low prices. And why wouldn't they? The fed is manipulating the market with interest rates, just as they did during Corona. History proves in the lon

Really? Because autopilot works pretty well for me already. I have it on way more than I have it off. Long roads with lots of stop lights, and 6 hour drives no longer bother me.

Same here and with many friends. It goes from time slowing down, to a few years of fun times, then anxiety, at which point many people stop doing it. Though I've seen people keep going and develop full scale paranoia, thinking that eve

A lot of people have the exact same story. First few times, time slows down. Next few years it's a good time, then after that you have a good chance of developing an anxiety disorder from weed. At that point people usually stop doing i

If there were a cost for pumping pollution into the atmosphere required to generate electricity then that cost would be passed on to you the consumer and then it might be 'cost-efficient' to install solar. Like I said, the problem

Yea a lot of the inflation increases across the board are pretty easily attributed to depegging the dollar from $35 an ounce. If that never happened then you could still buy an ounce of gold today for $35 instead of $2,000. The dollar has l

UST, a stable coin not even pretending to be backed by the very thing it was pegged to fails. Unlike USDT, USDC or GUSD, there was a documented plan of attack to take UST down 6 months ago, someone just raised enough capitol to execute it.
