Just a week ago I could still create a Google Docs "map" document, add spots, share it with friends who could collaborate from any (incl. non-Apple) device... It's just a pain to do this with Apple Maps compared to how easy a

I've worked on many German cars and the amount of bullshit repairs (ie. stuff breaking because of obviously poor engineering) I had to do on them was just way lower than on Ford/Chevrolet cars that are supposedly less over-enginee

See, that’s the thing. The users don’t care or even know about the whole server/client thing. They just want to change the storage folder. A good GUI lets you do such things without the whole envvar dance.

But this technology is now out there, the cat's out of the bag, there's no going back to a world where people can't ask AI to write malware for them. I'd argue that black hats will find a way to get uncensored models and

Because then Anthropic would have to guarantee that those customers would actually get the service they're paying for. At first it might be just a few customers on that higher plan, but it could quickly grow beyond what Anthropic could

You’re right about that. But now put the users in the equation. If you’re making and marketing a B2B tool, it’s fine. But for a B2C tool, that tool will have to be so good that people will be willing to keep paying an ongoing subscription.

Well yes, but you can process all passwords as UTF-8, as most of strings are in mac/iOS anyways, to avoid these problems. Then just don’t break an established standard like the keyboard layout. Is that too much to ask for in 2026?

Nowadays you can just use one of those WYSIWYG markdown editors that come with a toolbar (incl. buttons for inserting images) and hide the formatting syntax by default.

That is true, but nowadays most paid projects end up being perpetual subscriptions. Which I kind of get, as on-going maintenance still costs, but it used to be that you paid for a tool once and only paid again if you wanted/needed an u

Slovene still has the grammatical dual and we still have (and use) pronouns that could literally be translated as "we two" (midva/midve) and "you two" (vidva/vidve) and so on. I've been told it used to be

How can you be sure that they “will not even consider” doing that? (That’s a disinformation from your side!) If this app were to gain traction and start to be seen as a real problem by IG/YT, they would have all legal grounds to act. T

Given how broad the CFAA is, Instagram/YouTube could just try framing it as accessing their systems without proper permission, as the ToS disallow such usage.

It's still questionably legal (at least here in Europe) to sell a yearly subscription for something and then have it stop working halfway through the year. They should probably care about not getting sued so easily.

We can barely afford it at the current price. The solution would be charging foreign transit the non-regulated price but that would be considered discriminatory.
