Yeah I think I learned this the hard way: even making DB columns can be a premature optimization.

You can't even edit your own applets right? Like, you create an applet, hit save, and then it's set in stone. Can't modify it, you'd just have to make a new one. Please correct me if I'm wrong. If that's true,

Years ago I put together a Rails app to store iPhone/iPad apps for curation. There was a backend that connected to the iTunes API and then I parsed the data elements I needed and entered them into the DB. The most infuriating thing was

I guess my question is, aren't there domestic manufacturers who can help with prototyping and everything? Or has China completely taken that over? Note that I'm not talking about electronics in this instance, let's say garden

Chuck Swindoll was once a fan of that poem, but came around to a higher truth. I couldn't find the radio sermon where he used it as an example but the truth is that at some point you ought to learn that 1) there's quite a lot dire

Point 3 is what this whole article is about. Butowsky is being sued for defamation, that is, for lying about Seth Rich to serve his own political/personal ends.

The Latin idiota is borrowed from Greek ἰδιώτης idiōtēs which is from ἴδιος idios meaning "private" or "peculiar". Idiot has historically meant "retarded" so if you wanted to say "ignorantly"

Hmm, checking this out, the original Natural does not do this, but the newer ones, the 4000 and the Sculpt, do this. Thanks for the tip.

> The Fed prints money by giving free gifts to banks. That is, QE for $500 billion means banks are $500 billion richer. This is a straw man, $500 billion in loans (normally above market value for collateral) means banks could be anywhere

Strange to see powershell core have such poor performance. Isn't it basically .NET in a scripting language? I've had great success grepping through gigs of log files with powershell, though I recognize that's apples to orange

You know what, you're right. Today I turned off the backlights on my keyboard so it's nearly blank, and I noticed that I was in fact looking down. I do touch type though. So the big benefit of Typing of the Dead was that it forc

I was looking for a comment mentioning Seamless. This is the best counter example. Note that these guys bootstrapped correctly from the start; as you mentioned, group buys was a great low cost/high margin way to get started.
