If you ever had to do a large refactoring project, I would predict that you either: 1. Had great typing 2. Had very comprehensive automated (unit) testing 3. Had a very difficult time If you are tremendously diligent in writing tests for ev

The .mjs extension isn't required in browsers, but absolute paths are. So even if the .mjs extension requirement is dropped, I don't think the implication is that './foo' can successfully resolve to './foo

Sorry about mis-remembering his name, but my point was a bit more nuanced. The frustration I had was not that certain features were missing, but I was met with a response that suggested that I was wrong for even wanting these features. It w

One of the thing that's always been a bit off-putting about the Go community and leadership is that it seemed that when I came across things that I perceived as flaws in the tooling or language, I often felt told off and was made to fe

As it turns out many people don't have the willpower to kick the habit and die from smoking-related illnesses. How does does your suggestion to just quit help? Are you denying the existence of addiction to nicotine? If it were as simpl

The text-book example for event-sourcing is accounting. To calculate the current balance of an account, you add up all past transactions. You don't need to store the balance (state) because you can deduce it by replaying all events. Th

Before the start-up hype I think in the Netherlands you need to be in business for 3 years to no longer be considered one. But that definition has shifted quite a bit there too. The company you describe I would describe as any typical corpo

Thats seems extremely naive given that Google is also the browser vendor and they greatly benefit from tracking, and last to adopt privacy features. I highly doubt users will be given an obvious choice to turn this off.

Not saying there's also a positive use-case for this. Many web features are used for nefarious purposes. Do you disagree that this feature makes it easier to track people around the web?

Yea this is kind of the point. You won't need client-side code to create persistent tracking systems.

I'm not sure what you're trying to argue. A shared server state is a drastically different model from having the ability to access a key->value store. Try sharing a socket for example.

I think the idea is for example creating an object in 1 PHP process, and modify it in the second. The point is there is no shared state in the running problem
