Nice project, although I'd definitely not use it. The website seems too bloated and as others have said uses too much ram. For personal use I just curl one of these URLs from my linux machine: https://wiki.archlinux.org/

I somewhat am. I originally wrote this something to look for something that probably isn't on HN. Yes, it is partly the meaning of life. But as I've struggled thru my mid-teens life crisis I never really consider to be 'out&#

I don't know what to say - yet. I felt this human's story. Touching indeed. But I feel like this was something that HN wouldn't have liked. This was a nice essay but I'm still unsure how it got to the front page. (( Plea

I have tried hard terminating the Safari app. That was only the first time tho, and it didn't work. Now that I think about it I think I did not try restarting the iPhone altogether. I guess I'll try finding out what causes it to c

I've also used it when I was taking exams for high school. It's pretty bad software if you ask me. rant/long comment First of all, they have a 'different' program for each institution, customized for you to 'si

ha! Hadn't thought about it that way. But only so much can be encoded through history. I'd love to see a sci-fi movie combined with the butterfly effect. A somewhat advanced civilization in the past and another (maybe present) civ

That's very thoughtful. Maybe I'll get downvoted but I'll say this: One could just store this on the long-storage tech or in a temp-controlled seed farm in someplace cold with a computer, and english instructions on how to us

@dang i'd recommend changing the title on this one. I think the title is somewhat misleading, since it doesn't really explain what is happening. See [0][1] [0] https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=32598458 [1] ht

Serious question: What do journals actually do ? Do they check the article ? Why is it important for it to be in a journal ? I don't know much about academic research, fyi. I think it's also a midway proposal for other reasons. Th

Also in Latin America. Even though we have nice 4G text messages do take a while to get through, even if my speed test is high! TelCos just prefer to use the Internet. And I agree.

The iOS Safari Reader view does - most of the time- the trick for me. Disabling javascript altogether (in Safari) works like a charm, at least for NYT articles.

Or the article's author just changed the title. Happens often with big news outlets where the HTML title tag is different than the title displayed on the webpage.

My math teachers used an alligator analogy to remind us which is the correct symbol for using the greater - and less - than sign, the 'mouth' of the gator is always eating the greater number.

Read the parent of my comment. I was addressing bullying. But yeah, it's true. One could argue that the school shooter was doing this for himself, which of course isn't something I'd wish on anyone. I think that these teenage

I agree. Yet part of the problem is that your future kinda depends on it. You could be cataloged as having 'mental issues' for punching a guy in the face, even if it was for self defense. But yeah, I guess your point still stands

I guess we've lost our sense of individual justice. Standing up for ourselves, making what's right on our mind even if it means consequences.

I think you have a great point, yet something that I haven't seen anyone talk about is scale . The scale of the schools in the United States is enormous. I hear about 2000,3000, 5000-student schools. Some family's studied in the

5G is a technology that is very short-range. If you have a concrete wall between the emitter and the receiver you will get a terrible connection. Maybe 30 mbps vs 500 mbps. Maybe 10 blocks away and you've already lost connection - unle
