I suppose I meant more of a best practice - if every news site could be found at the subdomain of lite.XYZ.com, or perhaps some way for the browser to request specifically no images or styles, it’d be easier for the end user to find. RSS is

I recently stumbled across my lastfm login from late middle and early high school days. Talk about a blast from the past. This is a good idea, to keep the history going.

You can use Hugo to generate/update an rss feed of your blog. There are tools to post rss feed updates as posts on mastodon. As far as comments, I’ve seen it done, but as far as I know it’s a bunch of custom code. One example I found:

You likely didn’t read the sources. If you are already convinced of your (incorrect) position and assumptions despite ample evidence, why ask for sources? From the second link: >In this policy statement, 12 evidence-based key messages th

The phone activation process has moved to a website instead of a phone number. It doesn’t mean the OS to be activated needs an internet connection. You can still activate offline systems.

My solution was to stop using Instagram and use YouTube (shorts) instead. A lot of the short-form video content from Instagram can be found there, and sharing actually works.

I’m surprised the article claims there was nothing suspicious about the pilot. I recall that Captain Zaharie Shah had deleted data from his home pc flight simulator that showed a path flying through that same South Indian Ocean.

Disney+ has quite a bit of this actually. I agree though that overall most streaming services don’t offer this.

That really depends. A company can still own the copyright to the code that they’ve written, even if it’s licensed with GPL. It’s an asset that is transferred if the company is sold, etc, so yes, it’s actually company property. The GPL gran

It’s honestly had me questioning whether I want to stick to the Apple ecosystem. I’ve been avoiding iOS 26, mostly because I don’t have the time to deal with a major OS update during the holidays. Apple has decided I should be vulnerable to

I can’t speak directly about how they do it for The NY Times, but at least in the past there were a few methods. On some websites the paywall is only client-side. By capturing the contents of the page and removing the client-side banner, yo

Do you mean if it’s idle, or if it’s maxed out? I’ve had a few relatively idle free-tier VMs with Oracle and I’ve not received any threats of shutoff over the last 3 years I’ve had them online.

Perhaps that's not a loss, because why would you want to depend on apps that you essentially need an Apple account to use? I've had great luck with finding apps with Homebrew.
