I'm excited about the form states in this release as well as the bug fixes. As a generalist developer who does a little bit of everything but has a hard time with the design side of things, I'm loving using Twitter Bootstrap on some of my p

That's disappointing. Someone needs to fork this and make it at least look reasonable in IE8 and preferably at least visible in IE7.

"We're the Hipmunk for apartment rentals" sounds amazing to me but all of the little hidden details that a property owner won't list might make this less effective than Hipmunk where you know what you are getting with each airline.

Great article Jason. Interesting thoughts to ponder. Here is my perspective as a web developer. What you are creating for $53B is not a couple of a million jobs but a couple of million "start-up ready" employees. Frankly these employees are

I love these suggestions. Thank you for the feedback. Specifically the Khan videos I think are really helpful.

Cool. Thanks for the feedback. The way I'm envisioning this product working would be super slick. Also, super expensive to build. :) I'm sure someone will do it sometime if there really is a demand for it.

DailyBurn does have a lot of what I'm desiring. I might have to give it a go. I've heard a lot about it but figured it was a lot more about exercise with some healthy eating built in rather than managing my food life. Maybe it has some of t

Thanks. I am familiar with livestrong and it is definitely a super valuable resource. Not quite the smooth drag and drop simplify my life product that I'm envisioning but certainly a fantastic resource for working towards a healthy life.

Fair enough critique of Mint. What Mint did for me was track all of my different incoming and outgoing money and display them in the a very pretty, intuitive and easy to understand way. You are correct that the product I'm describing is a l

Thanks for the great feedback. You make some good points. We have some tricks up our sleeves to deal with some of what you bring up. Current version is what we consider a minimum viable product. Thanks for the response. We are listening car

It's difficult to not be "biased" when I am working for a company that I love working at. I'm not trying to give any kind of assessment of Jason Calacanis as a person over the course of his life. I'm not qualified to do that. What I am qual

Was a little worried people would see this as me trying to win over Jason's favor. Trust me, a blog post isn't going to do that. He sees my work all day every day and if I'm not delivering, a blog post isn't going to help my relationship wi

Yes, very very few things at Mahalo are mandated for everyone. And the stuff that is, should be. Thanks for the feedback.

Travis the author of the post here. To clarify there are required hours, and sometimes we get to use some of those hours to "play" rather than work. I can't say that's always going to work but it seems to work pretty awesomely at Mahalo. Ma

Hey I'm Travis the author of the post. Thanks for the feedback. You are right that there are people who probably wouldn't choose to spend that time "playing" with the company. A lot of the activities are optional. However, we do our best to

Also, I agree that we need to get over arguing about this internet celeb or that. The value comes when we try and look at the publicly visible examples and then figure out what lessons we can learn from them as a community to be better foun

Fair enough, I did get sucked into responding as I began to write. I guess it feels a little personal so when I try to write about it I slide that direction. Maybe should think about revising that part of the post. Thanks for the feedback.
