...but really though. Y'all are the smartest people I know, and with a little banter we could figure things out. A win for all parties. "Yes, Mom, I took my pills today" Lol

Haven't you seen how discussion lately has improved in quality? For whatever mixture of reasons, the world is finally waking up. We should start lobbing some good thoughts and respect on folks around us, and start to bring them around.

If they actually want it to work as intelligently as possible, they'll begin taking these complaints into consideration and building in a wisdom curating feature where people can contribute. This much is obvious, but they seem to be sa

To the brim, for sure. Probably one day we'll have a "citizen preferences file" where the confidentiality of our interactions with various entities can be granularly set.

Hmm, yeah I suppose anything promoting consumer knowledge would be antithesis to ordinary business schemes. Pie in the sky, alas. Maybe they could grab some preventative lobby money with the threat of it. /s

I'd love it if Apple (since they appear not to sell data) would provide an anonymized receipt analysis service like this. Huge user base right off the bat.

I would add to #5: Remember, Comparison is the Thief of Joy - By ignoring the unfairness of others' chance good fortune, you can continue harvesting dopamine from satisfaction in your own path of gradual accomplishments.

I was pleased to see this: Succinct, and on the right trail. Starting at #2 or #3 holds more interest. Just might help your case with friends who require sources to believe in reason.

Try a used series 4 from eBay if you're curious. They have the same processor as the 5 and 6, and are dirt cheap. For me it's been good enough to overcome "I could take it or leave it" - it's handy for reading alert

Someone needs to standardize a simple reverse-authentication system for this. For example whenever a caller is requesting sensitive information, they give you a temporary extension directing to them or an equal, and ask you to call the orga

Could it be said that entanglement was originally near infinite, as it might now be in black holes? Perhaps now that things are spread out, time appears to move faster because there is less stickiness of entangled particles depending on oth

What kind of mindset would lead to this behavior?? Maybe it doesn't matter. It feels -to me- like simply being exposed to people who say things like: " What ?-- no, that's not good" while remaining professional, respectf

Great question. No study is going to answer this sufficiently. But, remember history. The generation that goes through war remembers that hell and appreciates the following peace because they know the contrast. The following generatio

Great comic! How I visualize this stuff is really simple, and so far it doesn't seem to be wrong... Imagine 2 tennis balls floating in space, each spinning in some direction at some speed. The quantum amplitude is the extent to which t

The article is interesting and raises a good point, but I don't think it really solves anything. With the right perspective on (understanding of) your mental processes, deep, useful, questions like this cease to exist. They are solved.

I think Facebook's main benefit from this is that they will now have users clicking a button essentially to say, "yes, I believe this." Now they have a direct metric for what type of manipulation works for that user. Becau

Amen. Everyone: If you were using CrashPlan for simple p2p backups like this, use SyncThing now. It has versioning, it's open source, and it's secure. Made my day... I will enjoy donating to their project.
