That's a prediction I would disagree with. Firstly, there are application developers which specifically add support for GrapheneOS if they are asked nicely. Secondly, there is a chance that Play Integrity will have to change due to ant

Google Maps is sandboxed even on the stock Pixel OS. Sandboxing is part of the AOSP. GrapheneOS hardens the sandbox a bit, but it's not the most significant feature of the project. What isn't sandboxed on Android OSes that license

It's not really a requirement of a Pixel device. It just happens to be the case that Pixel devices currently are the only devices meeting the hardware requirements listed in the FAQ: https://grapheneos.org/faq#future-de

You can create a Google account without adding a phone number, that's still possible currently. To do this you need to make it within an app, for example Google Play Store or YouTube, not on the websites. You also need to use a trusted

Moreso, the project advises against rooting your phone and tells you that if you install GrapheneOS and root it that you aren't running GrapheneOS anymore.

It is sadly not a joke. Its sad that OEMs outside Google and Apple currently dont make hardware and firmware with reasonable security.

That would become a meaningless effort security wise as time goes on. The drivers and firmware will become outdated. OS updates are necessary but not sufficient. I get the e-waste / enviromental argument, and I think its very warranted

Sailfish OS just takes the wrong approach, to be honest. It makes more sense to have the more secure OS at the host (Android) and the less secure as a guest for compatability (traditional Linux distro). Its also problematic that the app com

That's not the reasoning. The reasoning is lack of proper hardware support on supported devices for secure face unlock. Coerced unlocking also holds true for fingerprint in some instances and that's worked around by using 2FA (fin
