Frankly, WINE/Proton are likely more consistent targets for game dev/testing... I wish they'd at least do that much more often than not. At least smooth out any rough edges. I would say it's a lot different, since it&#x

Is there something wrong with the many distros that make Steam a really easy install, or in the box? I mean Bazzite literally has a FS Steam option in the box for installers that's pretty close to the Steam OS experience with broader

For me, it's mostly that I'm more comfortable with TS/JS ecosystem... Deno is really nice in that you can import module references directly... I guess you can do similar with uv installed and have dependencies in comments in

I can just as easily do this in a TS file with Deno and fetch() ... not only that, but it's 1:1 to what I can now put into a browser and work with. Beyond this, I can (re)use client libraries to work with examples, create one-off utili

I've just started to assume I'm in an environment where shebang works and put my scripts to do repeated things under ./run/* ... generally bash if it's simple TS/Deno if it's more complex. Deno has been a

The differences between different environments can vary a lot... many shell scripts rely on certain external programs being available and consistent... this is less true across windows an mac and can vary a lot. I've found that Deno wi

Hard disagree... I find that Deno shebangs and using fixed version dependencies to be REALLY reliable... I mean Deno 3 may come along and some internals may break, but that should have really limited side effects. Aside: I am somewhat disap

I tend to keep a run/ directory in my projects (used to be _scripts to find easier, but now I favor the write-friendly ./run/dev or ./run/dbup, etc). Some of the scripts are bash, but many are TypeScript via Deno...

If you're using C# this is pretty much your best bet IMO... I think MS really missed the boat by not having a Linux target for MAUI, even if it was just passthrough to GTK (Or Qt).

I read it as Winamp myself at first pass. I don't care as much for the UI today, but really did like their Android app, and am sad it's no longer available. One of the better audio apps I'd tried on Android.
