> The researchers found that, on average, a liter of bottled water included about 240,000 tiny pieces of plastic. About 90% of these plastic fragments were nanoplastics. This total was 10 to 100 times more plastic particles than seen in

Thanks for this. It's amazing how useless twitter links have become to signed out viewers.

I remember TinyLetter. I never had a newsletter that was read by anyone, or ever made a community of readers like the author quotes, but it served me well the few times I needed it. It stood out amongst the hyper-commercialized alternatives

I'm not on X much these days, but when I was, the greatest benefit of likes for me was when I would tweet something, I could see the folks who liked it. This has not changed. My greatest annoyance around likes was how my feed would inc

For some reason reading this, I didn't believe you, and imagined "black text on green bg" to be very ugly, but you're totally right. There's the classic look we remember. Hmm.

Do you have an article on this? This is interesting news to me. Here I was thinking "oh, the big stink Google made about Apple not supporting RCS must have actually moved the needle." But if it's simply a legislative requirem

They didn't have a choice. Doing everything on-device would result in a horrible user experience. They might as well not participate in this generative AI rush at all if they hoped to keep it on-device. Which would have looked even wor

I think this is good. For folks like you, that will always be an option. For people that have yet to touch ChatGPT and "still don't know how to access AI" (I've heard this sentiment from many people that couldn't ca

I had similar reactions, a couple add-ons to make: 1. Yes, App Intents feel like the best version of a LAM we'll ever get. With each developer motivated to log their own actions for Siri to hook into, it seems like a solid experience.

I noticed this too. I quickly skimmed a rewritten email and it was totally wooden. It's the one where they ask the AI to reword their rant that includes tons of all-caps words. The output is almost worse, dripping in a passive aggressi

And with ChatGPT's direct integration into Siri, ChatGPT will be available to anyone using iOS for free, without an account. Interesting.

In case this isn't sarcasm: 1. Based on the article, and the parent comment here, it's not about the pedestrians (in this case). 2. Even if it were, it'd be much more difficult. Tunnels and bridges must be 10x - 100x more red

I just commented about this. We have one of these, and it's new, but the layers and layers of recent roadwork make it extremely confusing. I've seen people driving in the wrong lanes around the intersection. Thankfully there are p

We have one of these and it's extremely confusing. I don't drive the area much, but based on a few data points before and after, it might just have improved things. That said, I've seen folks end up driving on the wrong side

Love this. Would it be possible to read in a daily-changing starting word state that then gets stored via URL as preservation? That'd bring it a little nearer to classic wordle.

And because it's worded so negatively. "Ditched" is strong language for an otherwise impressive conversion rate. It's silly. I'm not an explicit fan or hater of Tesla, but this headlines reads unnecessarily antagoni

I don't think this is an issue. It seems to be an iCloud-related bug based on just how long the reports claimed photos had been deleted. If you're signed out of iCloud, I'd expect the photo to not resurface. Either way, horri

Not just you. And not just you "going through a rough patch," although there could be some overlap. I think my optimism for the future is cut down a bit by announcements like these, too. That does affect my overall life outlook. P

I don’t think so. The listening and responding isn’t being managed by an LLM. That’s just the app listening with a microphone and timer. Stop talking for x sec = process response. I bet the bot would wholeheartedly agree that it would defin

Copied and pasted the robot image journaling prompt and it simply cannot produce legible text. The first few words work, but the rest becomes gibberish. I wonder if there's weird prompt engineering squeezing out that capability or if i

Right... enthusiastic and generally confused. It's uncanny valley level expressions. Still better than drab, monotonous speech though.
