I'm really a fan of the type-driven development process Edwin shows of here. Especially the part where it can generate the correct matrix transposition logic as soon as it's been told that 'matrix' can only be used once.

I wish gorhill would make a Safari content-blocker version of ublock. None of the existing blockers (who mostly just package existing block lists and charge money for it..) work as well as uBlock IME.

These days you can just use clang on Windows. Latest standard supporting frontend + MSVC ABI compatibility.

I mean, there's CppCon as mentioned in the article, and C++ has pretty much the same wide reach as C.

What is easier or more reliable about iMessage? Consider that large portions of the world (among them Germany with its extremely old population) use WhatsApp pretty much exclusively; they don't seem to have a problem using it. Whereas

Considering the political shit storms on Twitter that occur what feels like every 5 minutes, I’m actually really happy for Twitter’s(and social media’s in general) relatively low popularity in Germany.

Again, languages with a built in bottom usually have sub typing behavior that makes bottom a subtype of everything (so you can give a value of type bottom to everything). 'forall a. a' is just how you define the bottom type in Sys

When the Bottom type is included in a language it usually exhibits sub typing behavior. That can be expressed in Haskell, too: {-# LANGUAGE RankNTypes #-} type Bottom = forall a. a -- zero inhabitants f :: Bottom -> a f x = x

The key is that you can (in theory, I don't know if Haskell has a proper bottom that can act as a type) give a value of Void/Bottom to anything, analogous to logic in that a proof of nonsense can be used as a proof of anything. Ta

Since one can prove anything if you're assuming nonsense, a function of the type 'Void -> a' should be able to just return its argument. And assuming the theory is consistent(so no infinite loops etc.) this is the only ins
