Depending on board support you might get actual error correction or not. If it doesn't boot, it's very likely that you actually bought registered memory, which is normal in servers, but _not_ supported at all by Ryzen processors,

Unless we're talking extremes (AVX512...), optimizing for power in modern CPUs is almost always optimizing the race to idle. I.e. the CPU doesn't use much less power if most ALUs are idle, so you might as well use all of them to c

The doc in question ( https://archive.org/details/frontline-workers-testimonies-va... ) contains anecdotes mixed with blatant lies about vaccine side effects. I totally agree that moderation can be overreaching, but this

On the contrary: a large number of the "poor" have ~zero or negative net worth, so inflation (unless extreme) doesn't affect them negatively.

And indeed, clang is able to do it for unsigned, too: https://godbolt.org/z/36r1Maq7b gcc doesn't seem to implement this optimization at all. Technically it should be possible for the <=n case, too: An infinite

The issue here isn't hardware capabilities, it's that vendors like to make their gadgets centrally connected for convenience and analytics and then on top often don't care about hygiene (e.g. no crypto at all).

The cloud is a backup. Just like any other backup you should test restore or at least verify the data regularly. I trust Google more than a random hard drive (to not lose random bits) in this respect. And unless your admin configured it awa

You'd compare them to Xeon D (which are more comparable in terms of power/intended usage), so e.g. for top of the line 16 core models, the EPYC Embedded 3451 vs. the Xeon D-2183IT, with 64 vs. 32 PCIe 3.0 lanes.

I'm building a NAS right now. The Epyc 3000 parts looked appealing, but it's ~impossible to get them in Switzerland (and hard in Germany). While getting an Atom/Xeon-D board is relatively easy and there's a lot more choi
