I don't know what you're talking about. This is exactly as I remember things back in the Iraq war. With us or against us and all that.

Mr Chat more or less covers it correctly. If my memory serves correctly, in the book there's a bit more emphasis and nuance on the point that, for buy-in to exist in the first place, all team members who have a strong opinion prior to

I suppose the irony is not lost on anyone that this article on how "AI is not dangerous" has clearly been generated by an AI. Reminds me of this quote: > I used to think that the brain was the most wonderful organ in my body. T

Indeed. The best way to make the distinction really obvious is the phrase: "Github is to git what Pornhub is to porn". Alas, not a phrase you can use in an educational setting though. And I haven't really found other "hu

Yes, still though, it might be interesting to be able to measure this easily. E.g. when asking an AI to rephrase or summarise, if the entropy drops you might take that as a sign that it has eroded the style beyond what you might be willing

The part about a change in entropy was interesting. Is there an easy way to get / compare the entropy of two passages? (e.g. to see if it has indeed dropped after gen ai manipulation). And could this be used to flag AI-gen text (or at

As an aside, I like their use of blockquotes+details/summary blocks for inserting "afterthoughts/addendums". It's a nice touch, and it works pretty well. Partly because, as a design choice, it forces you to add the

Is Java even a "systems programming" language? I don't even know what that term means anymore; but afaik Java didn't really have reliable low-level APIs until recently.

I won't deny that vim has an "insane" feature count (particularly with plugins), but people who claim this kind of comparison typically vastly underestimate nano's own feature count and flexibility / extensibility.

Unironically yes, switch to nano. It is an excellent and vastly underestimated editor. (though admittedly, with a somewhat unfortunate default config, at least for modern environments) It has been my editor of choice over vim for many years
