Having it stable in mainline in 3-4 would also be a big achievement. The filesystem part in Linux is kind of stagnating: * ZFS will forever be problematic because of licensing reasons * BTRFS stability is widely untrusted after their proble

And when everything is in docker you can use SELinux again: A docker container is not allowed to access the host system or access the filesystem of other containers. That‘s the default. SELinux protection without any weird problems.

MyIsam is not crashsafe. Anytime your server crashes the MyIsam database may get corrupted. Faster, but at what price?

Don‘t forget that hn has international users. The rules you describe don‘t have to be the same for everyone. And there are a lot of countries with much bureaucracy.

All of these tools will at least run an introspection query to get the available tables and columns to display the data. But these queries will fail because SQLite doesn't have these tables. So the idea is very nice, but any existing t

That's a fascinating concept. Is there anything similar for INI? Such a tool for ini could help in automatically changing configuration files for software which is most often configured by ini files.

I am not sure at the moment but don‘t you need superuser access to create operators? In that case not „any application“ could make your application faulty.

PostgreSQL has the RETURNING statement for DML queries. It‘s very effective for that case because you get all affected rows and their new values.

Sure but setting up swap is still recommended. I guess some internal linux memory algorithms prefer to have some safety net? Setting up a 1GB zram swap was effective for me, it‘s not much wasted memory as servers have so much memory these d

You could run them all on the same host and use docker with kata containers. The firecracker hypervisor was developed by aws to even run multiple tenants on the same host, so it should be very secure.

Additionally Hetzner's egress pricing is a lot more cheaper. On hetzenr you pay 1,19€/TB (1.13$/TB) vs. 90$/TB on AWS. That's about ~80 time more on AWS!
