I apologise if I came across as rude, I thought I was making simple informative statements. Here is the rest of the comment: > 3. Most of the complexity is hard complexity that has to be there to process rules. Rules are way more complex

Author here. > First of all, what is load time? Load time is when server is generating HTML for request. I should have been more precise. > Most server side templating engines are compiled, rarely string concatenated and even if that

Author here: 1. Yes, but you are watching sausage being made. Previously the platform owners would just come on stage and announce the new version of framework (think MFC, WPF, Android, Cocoa, UI Touch) and say "go play with it".

In Croatia you get fines for not having a valid fire extinguisher even though there is one in the corner right there. Why? Because "they went out of their office and cannot return empty handed, so let's write this small fine at le

Just my line of thought. If capitalism, regulated or not, leads to neo-feudalism, maybe that society is actually the target for which capitalism is just a catalyst.

This failed to go beyond Flat UI concepts, it merely compared iOS and Android guidelines. It's more of a "contemporary Flat UI design". When viewed that way, it actually is a good article.

I really dislike this UI concept. It is completely non-discoverable and when paired with "pull to refresh" it is hard to guess what the pull down gesture do. Drawer is a better concept IMHO - it informs the user that there are so

As I've already said a couple of times, the dependency on the cloud is troublesome for lots of reasons. I don’t want to “wait for authentication” every time I go play offline single player games, I just want to play the game! Why shoul

Well, Steam is actually more convenient than torrenting. You don't have to search for the correct torrent, test it, trust it, and so on. Find a game, pay it, download it, play it.

I think that convenience wins over pirating. Just recently I bought Far Cry 3 after finishing the pirated version. What I discovered is that having DRM in the normal, paid version is completely annoying. I would gladly pay for any service w

This is a battle they (advertisers) simply can't win. If they increase the number of ads for Firefox users, Firefox installation might suggest ad-blocking software to users. If we have a "browser choice screen" as a punishment for Microsoft
