That was my reaction... about 3 to 4 years ago when I saw the Epson Moverio BT-100 engine maintenance training demonstration ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eVV5tUmky6c ). It's not as sleek as Glass, but it's in t

Well, I'd make them more specific to the task I'm trying to solve. For instance, if I had to write what was the results of some paper and what is it's contribution to my field in 1000 characters or less, I'd make that my

I'm not keen on Soylent either, but I think you're forgetting about the micro nutrients. Macro nutrients are rather easy to get on the cheap, but micro nutrients can be somewhat of a hassle.

Is the stuff in the dashboard(e.g "5w+h") supposed to be writing prompts? If so, rather neat. Have you considered making them modifiable?

Even if it wasn't erysipelas, they didn't know what it was. Eating the pig could've been fine if they at least were able to tell what is it that it had and whether it was infectious or not. Eating animals whose cause of death

Somehow this doesn't seem like a desirable property in a language. One of the purposes of (human? inter-sentient?) languages is the reliable transmission of information. Verbosity and repetition in language have a purpose similar to th

Why would they talk about data? Data collection in economics is often very much outside the scope of economics departments. Not only because it's beyond the budgets of individual departments to maintain the necessary personnel, but bec

I'm on the opposite camp. Nothing makes me groan so deeply as dialogues. And I know I'm not alone either: plenty of people are bored out of Plato because of the dialogic writing, specially because every other line amounts to nothi

Yeah, I don't think you're an alcoholic. It might be because I come from a wet culture. Which is to say one where having a beer over lunch isn't (or wasn't) frowned upon. But 4 beers a day is completely manageable. Docto

Not quite so. Farmers don't have to reassure their cows that they care about them. Plus they do care, even if for completely selfish reasons.

What do you mean by "in the long run"? Because a library being rendered unusable for a definite length of time wouldn't be a problem in the long run unless we're talking about a system with path dependence. And even if t

Why would he do that, though? I do think it's neat, but I think most people would just memorize an algorithm instead. Were any memory tricks involved (e.g. pegs, palaces) or did he just go through a table of square roots every morning?

I don't know how much of the stuff associated with ceremonial magic can be called "christian mythology", since most of it was only attested pretty late, between the 15th and 17th centuries, at a time when Christianity was alr

The issue is that being able to see that little path of logical steps is a skill on it's own, and most students don't know even how to begin approaching a new mathematical problem.

Depends on what kind of programming or reading. Writing out boilerplate code or just skimming text don't seem to require much brain power. Neither does a task which one is so used to that it becomes "effortless".
