Well, that was an outcome of losing the world war, not their socialist policies. I'm not sure the two can be separated, maybe you could imagine the Nazis but without starting world wars.

I agree, we must look at disgusting things and understand them if we truly wish not to end up in the same place again. It's really sad to see I was flagged, downvoted, and somebody called me a white supremacist. Ironically exactly the

Well, you certainly got a combative tone. I don't care if it's 8:45 or 9:45, it is what it is. You don't get more or fewer hours of sun, it's dark when you go to work, it's dark when you get home from work. With DST

No, it is intended for a small band of places where the latitude is big enough to make winter and summer daytime length significantly different, but not so different that DST does nothing. In Sweden, with DST, the sunrise is at 4am in summe

I can see the DST argument for people where the shift kinda sorta works out, but many places (like Anchorage!) it's completely unnecessary. I live in Sweden and it's just the twice annually "ah shit the clock moved overnight.

I suppose it depends on how it is presented. You can definitely present boring things interestingly, and interesting things boringly.

I hate to rain on your parade, but a lot of interests want the low-frequency spectrum. It will absolutely never be allocated to amateur radio.

It's very simple. You can bet and lose as much as you like, but if you bet and win, you are clearly cheating somehow.

It comes down to some form of the old adage "the average person thinks they're smarter than the average person". They're not.

Interesting point about class signaling, but it doesn't explain Peppa Pig (or Bluey) showing a more healthy approach to teaching emotional regulation. The English certainly value that same kind of behavior after all. Kids learn really

Fear is rarely good, surely? Maybe if you potentially have to literally fight for your life, yes, but that - I hope - is a rare occurrence.

You _can_ legislate it _out_ of existence though. The competence is there, no doubt. Just not the complete disregard for copyright law that is step 1 of training an LLM. Rules for thee but not for me, classic colonialism. The EU is so inter

On the other hand, the Anthropic models often try to justify shortcuts and incorrect results. Often feels like gaslighting. It's like that recent meme, boss: Were you in the project meeting yesterday? employee: Yes! boss: Really, becau

I very rarely use my personal laptop. I stream on my phone, if I want a bigger screen, I either cast or use the app on the TV. So for me it's work laptop and two phones, not bad at all for the peace of mind. I literally turn off work.

Sweden does not have a car industry. The fighter jets are a different matter, very strong technical moat and need to prove the system in combat. You can't just start a fighter jet business.
