I don't the know the situation now, but in the UK you could break into an empty place, then change the locks, and from that point on they could not evict you without a long process involving going to court. There was (is?) a huge squat

Same here. I have completely lost all interest in new tech, devices, trends, etc. Using anything today is an excercise of finding out all the different ways it's trying to screw you over.

Berlin has got to be the most unfriendly city in Europe to rave in as a foreigner by far. I was into that scene back then and would much rather party in London or Amsterdam.

Last time I checked all terminal emulators available in Emacs showed visible lag when rendering output. Not really suitable for serious work on the terminal.
